Higher Tea: An Infusion of Love

Share Your Tea Story

Every one of us has a story to tell of how we learned important things from others. If you were raised by someone who loved tea, you might have received a key lesson over a cup of tea. You may have sat with your grandmother in her parlor while she taught you the art of conversation
while sipping tea. With a bottomless pot of tea, a dear friend might have comforted and supported you as you worked through the loss of a loved one. A special tea gift could have opened the door to greater understanding and acceptance between you and a loved one. Encouragement and
a cup of tea with a trusted colleague could have helped you
to embrace a career challenge. You might also have a special
teacup or teapot that belonged to your mother, aunt or former
neighbor. When you drink tea from this cherished keepsake you
may have fond memories of how they exemplified a loving quality.
See below for a list of “higher qualiTeas” to consider.
Higher Tea: An Infusion of Love will be a collection of heartwarming
tea stories about people who exemplify compassion and how they influenced
our lives. This book will provide an opportunity for you to share your story and your feelings about a special person who taught you so much. By sharing our experiences we can help each other on our pathways toward greater wholeness, wellness, and awareness.

Stories should be no more than 1,000 to 1,500 words long (approximately two or three typed pages, single spaced.) If your story is included in this collection, you will receive a free copy of the book and your name will be listed with other authors.

Here are some suggestions to help you write, edit, and submit your story:

  • Make a cup of tea and sit quietly for a few minutes; have your journal or a notepad and a pen handy.
  • Close your eyes and envision the person you wish to write about and the quality they exemplify; allow your mind to take you back to a special time together.
  • Recall details about this moment and how it shaped your life; allow your feelings to surface.
  • Take a deep breath, open your eyes, and write everything you can recall.
  • Review and edit your notes, forming them into a clear and concise story.
  • Read your story out loud to someone and ask for feedback.
  • Ask someone to edit your story for grammar and punctuation.
  • Write a brief paragraph about yourself.
  • If you have a picture of the person you wrote about, please feel free to send a digital copy via email; if you send a print, do not send the original as it will not be returned; clearly identify the name of the person(s) in the photo.
  • Electronic story submissions are preferred and may be emailed to:   Pamela@HigherTea.com
  • Hard copy may be mailed to:
    • Dr. Pamela Gerali    Attn: Tea Story
    • PO Box 110623
    • Naples, FL 34108-0111
  • Include the following items with your submission: Tea story; your name, address and phone number; and a brief paragraph about yourself. Photos are optional and can be emailed with the text; please do not send originals as they will not be returned.

Every effort will be made to include your story, but there are no guarantees. Stories may also be edited. For confidentially, include only first names or change names if you wish.
